New Executive Committee elected in 27th Annual General Meeting
Annual General Committee Meeting
The 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association for Land Reform and Development (ALRD) was held on the evening of 12th November 2019 at organization’s hall room. The meeting – participated by 32 members of ALRD’s General Body out of 42 - was presided over by Ms. Khushi Kabir, Chairperson of the organization.
Mr. Shamsul Huda, Executive Director of ALRD, presented the minutes of the last AGM of ALRD and the Annual Report of the organization for July 2018 to June 2019. Ms. Afzalun Nessa Chowdhury, Treasurer of ALRD, presented the Audit Report of FY 2018-19 and she also presented the Amended Budget for FY 2018-19 and proposed the budget for FY 2019-20. All the presented reports and the minutes were passed by the General Body unanimously.
Among other dignitaries, Professor Dr. Abul Barkat, Prof. Dr. Shafique uz Zaman, Dr. Meghna Guhathakurta, Mr. Shahid Hossain Talukder, Mr. Mohammad Kamal Uddin, Mr. Abdul Mazid Mollick, Mr. A. Milon Khan, Prof. Dr. Sima Zaman, Dr. Abul Hossain, Mr. Shah-i-Mobin Jinnah, Mr. AFM Akhter Uddin and Ms. Nirupa Dewan, were present in the meeting as Members.
Welcoming the 2019-2021 Executive Committee
At the end of the meeting, members of the General Body elected 14 Members by secret ballots for the Executive Committee for 2019-2021. After the election, following the ALRD constitution, the members selected Chairperson, Vice-chairperson and Treasurer. Mr. Shamsul Huda will play the role of Member Secretary of the Executive Committee by dint of his capacity as the Executive Director of the organisation.

The election was conducted by a two-member Election Commission consisting of Advocate Zahidul Bari and Advocate Promila Biswas; both of them are practicing Lawyers of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
